Canadian Its the biggest summer of training of my life

Canadian: “It’s the biggest summer of training of my life that’s waiting for me!” – Rafael Harvey-Pinard

Rafaël Harvey-Pinard will act as Honorary President of the very first edition of the Classique Prestige on August 31st at the Saguenay-Arvida Golf Club.

The event, attended by 160 players, will raise funds for the Saguenay Palliative Care Home and the Saguenay Minor Hockey Association. This association has just created the Rafaël Harvey Pinard Scholarship to help young people access ice hockey.

“I know hockey is getting more and more expensive,” said the Montreal Canadiens player. I remember my parents paid too. I’ve lived it in side hockey and I enjoy helping young people so money isn’t an issue.

Personally, Harvey-Pinard reiterated his intention to secure a National League spot at the next training camp.

“It’s the biggest training summer of my life waiting for me!” he said. “I still have to get a tick to establish myself in the National League.”

“My coaches told me what I need to improve,” added the hockey player. “Without going into detail, playing so many games over the past year has helped me see where I need to improve.”

Rafaël Harvey-Pinard was recalled by the Habs in mid-January. In 34 games, he had 14 goals and 6 assists, including a hat-trick against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

“Looking at 10 games, you know you’ve played against multiple teams and multiple players. You can see that you are able to play in this league and contribute to the success of the team. It happened little by little. I’m convinced I’m capable and it’s up to me to prove it,” he said.

Rafaël Harvey-Pinard’s personality and success quickly made him a Canadiens fan favorite.

“Playing alone for the Canadiens is an honor,” he said. “To be recognized in this way is heartwarming! Seeing the support of Quebecers makes a difference!”

“It brings a little more attention,” he admitted. “I get recognized, I get arrested walking the streets, but I’m getting used to it and I always enjoy talking to people.”

The 24-year-old promises to return to his home region regularly in the summer.

Even if he keeps quiet about this, he should have signed his new contract in good time before the next training camp.
