Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault won the January segment of the Molson Cup on Friday morning.

The 26-year-old bouncer beat fellow Quebecer Rafaël Harvey-Pinard by earning two first star awards and an additional second star.
In 10 games in January, the Bécancour native reported 323 shots, the fourth-highest total at the Bettman circuit over the period. He finished the game 4-6-0 with 3.14 goals against average and 0.915 saves.
Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield and Jake Allen have won the other Molson Cup segments since the start of the season.
Montembeault will be honored during a brief presentation ahead of Saturday afternoon’s game against the New York Islanders.
