The Florida Panthers also took care of business in Game 5, defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs and advancing to the Conference Finals for the first time since 1996.

Before defeating Toronto, the Panthers defeated the Boston Bruins, who won the Presidents’ Trophy, in seven games.

The upcoming series will mark the first time the Canes and Panthers meet in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Carolina and Florida met three times during the 82-game regular season, with the Metropolitan Division champions emerging victorious from two bouts.

The Panthers opened the season series on November 9 with a 37-save shutout against Spencer Knight. In the next meeting, Antti Raanta returned the favor with 19 saves in a perfect performance. Then, in the final game of both organizations’ regular seasons, Carolina prevailed with a 6-4 win.

Series schedule information is expected to be released by the NHL in the coming days. The Canes have home field advantage, meaning Games 1 and 2, and 5 and 7 if required, will be played at PNC Arena.

Tickets for the home games are on sale now and can be purchased here.
