The main Brazilian highlight on day two of the awards ceremony at the 70th edition of Cannes Lions is AKQA. The agency’s Brazilian office won the Digital Craft Grand Prix Never done evolving feat Serena case created in collaboration with the chain’s Portland and Melbourne teams for Nike, which also achieved bronze in another subcategory, Digital Craft. In this area, AKQA also won 1 Gold and 1 Silver Transparency Card for Congress in Focus.

In the debut section of Entertainment for Gaming in Cannes, VMLY&R won 1 Gold and 1 Silver with “Los Santos +3°C” for Greenpeace, which was the most awarded Brazilian campaign at last year’s festival but may return this year for the first edition of the Awards focused on games. The same happened with David’s “Burger Glitch” for Burger King, which won one of Brazil’s four bronze medals in the Entertainment for Gaming category.
At Entertainment for Music, the “Rosalia Motomami Live Experience” case, developed by teams from TikTok in São Paulo, Columbia Records in New York and Motomami in Barcelona, won 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze. AKQA São Paulo acts as an additional agency, a recognition that does not apply to scoring at the festival, but only to recognition of participation in the event.
In the “Entertainment for Sport” competition, Ogilvy won a Golden Lion for “Lea”, which Kimberly Clark created for Intimus. And there was also gold in design for DM9, for “The cost of gold”, for Urihi Associação Yanomami.

Looking at the winning cases of the first two days that the festival awards to Brazilian companies, the country has 1 Grand Prix and 39 Lions, 6 Gold, 13 Silver and 20 Bronze. The Brazilian agency with the most awards so far is AKQA (1 Grand Prix, 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze). In second place is VMLY&R with 1 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze.
Next in third place are Gut and TikTok, both with 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze. The national ranking continues with DM9, in fifth place, with 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze, and continues with Africa (1 silver and 4 bronze); FCB (2 silver and 1 bronze); Ogilvy (1 gold); Gray (1 silver and 1 bronze); BETC Havas (1 Silver); AlmapBBDO, David and Soko (each with 2 bronzes); and gallery (1 bronze).

Considering official results to be released by Tuesday 20 June 2023.
The official Cannes Lions weights were applied: 30 points for the Grand Prix, 15 points for the Golden Lion, 7 points for the Silver Lion and 3 points for the Bronze Lion.
One of the bronzes will be shared between TikTok and the gallery.
