The supermodel, who came out as pansexual in 2020, recently opened up to Vogue in an interview last August.

“It was more about me just deciding to put my cards on the table and say, look, I’m in love, I’m in love with whoever I’m in love with,” she said of her “coming out.”

“I was tired of being ashamed of who I loved and who I was. So for me, it was more about saying, “Love is love, and we should be able to love who we want.”

She admitted, “That’s not the case.” [been easy], but there was never a moment where I thought, “This isn’t worth it.” It was worth every second. I just don’t know what it would take for me to give it up. i am stable I’m calmer.’

She continued, “I used to not trust myself.” I was constantly questioning myself. There was a lot of fear involved. Now I just feel free of it.’

Cara added that speaking publicly about their issues is also very liberating as it feels like a load has been lifted.

She said, “For a long time I felt like I was hiding a lot from the people who looked up to me.” “I finally feel like I can be completely free and be myself.”

This comes after Cara revealed she had put herself into rehab after “heartbreaking” pictures published by last year shook her awake.

She said she has been reflecting on her mental health issues and struggle with addiction after raising concern through a series of troubled public appearances.

Speaking to Vogue magazine as its cover star in April, she admitted she wasn’t “ready” to face her demons until she got into a “bad situation.”

“I hadn’t seen a therapist in three years. I just pushed everyone away which made me realize how miserable I am.’

Disturbing pictures from September showed the 30-year-old looking nervous and scared outside Van Nuys Airport while walking around in dirty socks and bare feet.

The photos sparked concerns about her health from her fans as she was seen with sunken, dark eyes while smoking a pipe in her car.

sources, the former ‘It girl’ appeared unable to control her body movements at certain points after stepping outside and answering a phone call.

Despite being two hours late for a flight on a private jet, she was seen walking around outside looking exhausted and unable to stop moving.

The Only Murders in the Building star later said that visiting friends and family during her crisis made her realize how loved she was.

Cara continued, “I always thought that work had to be done when times were bad, but actually work had to be done when they were good.”

“The work has to be done consistently. It’s never fixed or fully healed, but I’m okay with that, and that’s the difference.”

Her well-being has been the focus of concern for her friends and family over the past year after she exhibited erratic behavior on various occasions.

The model explained that she lied to herself about her health and it wasn’t until she saw herself in the airport photos that she realized she needed help.

“I hadn’t slept. I wasn’t well,” she explained. “It’s heartbreaking because I thought I was having fun, but at one point I was like, ‘Okay, I don’t look good.’

“You know, sometimes you need a reality check, so in a way those pictures were something to be grateful for.”

She confessed to having many “shallow” relationships because she held back her feelings so as not to “burden” anyone and because she was afraid of being abandoned.

“If you were to ask any of my friends, they would say they’ve never seen me cry,” she confessed.

“From September I just needed support. I had to start making contact. And my old friends who I’ve known since I was 13 all came over and we started crying. They looked at me and said, “You deserve a chance at happiness.”

Through her work in therapy, Cara realized that she needed to stop chasing the idea of a “quick fix” to healing and decided to follow the 12 step program.

She explained, “I used to always be interested in the quick fix of healing, like going on a week-long retreat or a trauma course, and that helped for a minute, but it never really got down to the substance, the deeper things.”
