Cardi B is doing court-ordered community service at an NYPD mentorship program for young girls

Cardi B did her court-ordered community service by performing at the NYPD Academy for a mentoring program, according to TMZ.

Rather than doing the usual labor-intensive service jobs, the 30-year-old I Like It rapper works with young girls on a program called Girl Talk as part of her 15-day service requirement.

She took to Twitter on Saturday to share her thoughts on work.

“Community service was the best thing that ever happened to me. Almost like a spiritual journey because sometimes I leave these centers in tears.’

The singer continued, “These people we’re leaving behind just need someone to talk to and a little nudge, and YOU could change their lives forever.”

Her community service sentence dates back to August 2018, when she was involved in a battery case and allegedly ordered an attack on two bartenders at Angel’s Strip Club.

The apparent reason for the attack was that she believed her partner Offset had been having an affair with one of them.

The Bodak Yellow hitmaker broke the case last September by pleading guilty to two misdemeanor charges while ten other charges, including two felonies, were dismissed.

She originally missed her first court-ordered deadline to elapse the 15 days and had to appear in Queens Criminal Court again in January to seek an extension.

The court granted her request and she was given until March 1.

While finishing work, the beauty appeared to be enjoying herself at the train station after being caught on camera dancing around with one of her songs playing in the background.

Officers and people working at the station cheered her and sang along to her song.

After working with the young girls, the rapper took to social media to express her exhaustion after waking up early.

She reportedly told eight people, including Tawana Jackson-Morel and Jeffrey Bush, to attack sisters Baddie Gi and Jade.

During the sentencing hearing, prosecutors described the melee as follows: “Glass bottles were allegedly thrown at the victims, alcoholic beverages were thrown in their faces and a woman’s head was slammed against the bar.”

The plea deal also stipulated that Cardi would provide the court with a DNA sample and ban her from contacting the victims in the case for three years.

Her statement after the sentence read in full: “As a mother, I try to teach my children this practice, but the example starts with me.

“I’ve made some bad decisions in my past that I’m not afraid to face and admit. Those moments don’t define me and they don’t reflect who I am now.”

She continued, “I’m looking forward to moving through this situation with my family and friends and getting back to the things I love most — the music and my fans.”
