Cardi B reacted strongly to an online troll who called her three-year-old daughter Kulture “autistic” in a tweet on Friday.
“My daughter isn’t autistic… You can’t call her ugly, so you have to diagnose her with something. Go play in traffic b***h,” the 29-year-old rapper replied in the heat of the moment.
However, her response received mixed reviews from fans, who pointed out that autism shouldn’t be taken as an insult.
Protective mom: Cardi B reacted strongly to an online troll who called her three-year-old daughter Kulture “autistic” in a tweet on Friday
The since-deleted tweet promoting the musician’s response read, “Your daughter is literally autistic and you’re on Stan-Twitter instead of making sure she doesn’t stick her finger in outlets.”
Many of Cardi’s fans asked the entertainer to just ignore the troll, but she continued in another tweet, writing, “WHY ARE YOU RAISING CHILDREN? What must my children have to do with your misery?’
Her fans then questioned the WAP singer’s response, asking: “You have every right to defend your child. I’m just trying to understand why saying a child is autistic is considered an insult.’
Heated: “My daughter isn’t autistic … You can’t call her ugly, so you kind of have to diagnose her with her wit.” Go play in traffic b***h,” the 29-year-old rapper replied in the heat of the moment
Annoyed: Many of Cardi’s fans begged her to just ignore the troll, but she continued in another tweet, writing: “WHY ARE YOU GETTING KIDS UP? What must my children have to do with your misery?’
“If you don’t understand a child with autism, you should know that they are gifted and amazing in their own individual way,” they added.
Another user wrote: “I have to[sic] grandchildren with autism. you are my heart I don’t know why people call your daughter autistic, but it’s nothing to be ashamed of.”
The Bodak Yellow singer has faced similar criticism in the past, and in an Instagram Live rant streamed in April 2022, she responded, again clarifying that her children do not have autism.
“There’s nothing wrong with this disturbance. I have friends who have children who are autistic. But my kid doesn’t have it. So if I want to say, “Don’t put that on my kid,” I can say that.
No offense: However, her response received mixed reviews from fans, who suggested that autism should not be taken as an offense
Thoughtful: Another user added: “I must have grandchildren with autism. you are my heart I don’t know why people call your daughter autistic, but it’s nothing to be ashamed of.
“Why am I wrong if I say, ‘don’t put that on my friggin’ kid,’ but the person tweeting this isn’t wrong?” She asked.
Cardi – born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar – shares Kulture and son Wave Set Cephus, nine months, with Migos rapper Offset, 30.
The star previously opened up about online bullying and why she and her husband waited before revealing their son’s name in an interview with Essence.
“We’ve been through a lot of sad things when it comes to that [our daughter] Kulture — horrible behavior that not even the older kids ever went through,” Cardi explained.
Hitting back: She previously responded to similar criticism, saying, ‘Why am I wrong to say, ‘Don’t put that on my friggin’ kid,’ but the person tweeting that isn’t doing it wrong?’
Trolling: The entertainer has also spoken out about the trolling her daughter has received: “So many people are going to post mean, gross things just to get a reaction from us.”
When their baby boy was born in September 2021, the couple – who have been married since 2017 – decided to wait to avoid having the same experience.
“So many people will post mean, disgusting things just to get a reaction from us. We want to protect our feelings because we get very, very angry and upset,” she revealed.
The relentless online bullying also prompted Cardi to make her daughter’s Instagram page – which has more than 2 million followers – private.
