Carinthian Tourism is optimistic about the summer of 2022:

Biggest pre-season campaign ever at launch

Klagenfurt (OTS) – The signs for a successful summer of 2022 are good in Carinthia: after two challenging years, an early start to the summer season is possible again this year and the holiday wish is greater than ever. In the last two years, Carinthia has managed to convince many new guests with its holiday offers, guest satisfaction and intention to visit again have reached higher values. Interest in active nature holidays with the trending themes of cycling and hiking is constantly growing, and regional cuisine is also in demand. With the biggest pre-season campaign ever implemented by Kärnten Werbung in cooperation with the Carinthian tourist regions, the Carinthian and Österreich Werbung offer groups, advertising measures for the summer holidays on the south side of the Alps are now being announced. Campaign content and expectations for summer 2022 were presented by Kärnten Werbung Managing Director Christian Kresse and Josef Petritsch, President of the WKK Division for Tourism and Leisure today, April 8, during a press conference in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee.

Josef Petritsch, head of the tourism and leisure industry division at the Carinthia Chamber of Commerce emphasizes: “Carinthian tourism professionals have made record investments in recent months. They make a significant contribution to the development of the place. Huge organizational and monetary resources flow into the fight against the shortage of skilled workers. Be it projects in schools, projects for improving the image, finding apprentices, continuous training, platforms, etc. – here we are unique in Austria”.

Carinthian publicity chief Christian Kresse: “Despite all the challenges, Carinthia tourism managed to reach over 96% of overnight stays from pre-corona summer 2019 in summer 2021. We are looking positively at the season again this year. Carinthia is particularly attractive with its offer of cycling, hiking and slow food. Due to the late start of the season in the last couple of years, we see great potential for the beginning of this year’s summer, but we also expect good demand for the whole course of the season. Above all, we can build strong partnerships in the regions.”

Joint advertising power in target markets

With the strongest campaign ever, Carinthia is particularly focused on the pre-season when announcing the summer holiday offer. €3.4 million will be used in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Italy. “In cooperation with the tourist regions of Carinthia, the Carinthian offer groups and joint measures with the Austrian Tourist Board, we are putting all our energy into a successful start to the season. Demand on Kärnten’s advertising portals Werbung is already at a record level,” says Kresse.

At the heart of the campaign: sustainable holiday themes

Active holidays in nature, especially cycling and hiking, are high on the list of holiday activities for Carinthian guests. Regional cuisine with Slow Food continues to grow strongly. These sustainable holiday themes are therefore also the focus of marketing measures, which are dedicated 50% to alpine regions and 50% to lake regions.

be implemented TV ads in Austria, Germany and Italy, radio spots in the markets of Austria, Germany, Italy, Holland, Hungary, international Online marketing offensive, comprehensive print campaigns How out of home-Advertising, business cooperation and numerous press activities. Five million euros will be used for the entire Carinthia 2022 summer campaign.
