Rio Carol Junger, wife of José de Abreu, provided an update on the 76yearold actor’s health following the accident he sustained while filming ‘Mar do Sertão,’ a TV Globo soap opera. Colonel Tertúlio Aguiar’s interpreter fell when he was hit by a donkey.

“Ze is fine. He fell and he’s in a bit of pain, but it wasn’t serious. Today he woke up better and will rest at home,” Carol Junger wrote on her networks.

On Thursday, José de Abreu informed his supporters about the accident. “What happened today during the taping of the festive finale of the soap opera Mar do Sertão: The donkey Shopi Centi got scared, turned around, bumped his butt into me and I fell backwards. There was no fainting, nothing. It hurt, that’s all.”

“Every accident at Globo follows protocol: immobilize, put on a stretcher, call Globo’s own ambulance and take him to the hospital for a checkup. I did this. I’ve already been released, I’m at home and resting. Saturday I have an MRI to confirm today’s tomography. That’s it for now,” he concluded.
