‘I never thought I would live to see this day’: Carrie Underwood and her mother Carole get matching tattoos during their ongoing residency in Las Vegas
Carrie Underwood, her mother Carole and her two sisters all got matching ink as they celebrated the bank holiday weekend together in Las Vegas.
The 40-year-old native of Muskogee, Oklahoma posted a carousel of photos to Instagram on Sunday documenting the weekend in Sin City, where she is currently a resident.
“When your 74-year-old mom asks you and your sisters to get matching tattoos with her in Las Vegas, the only questions are, ‘What?’ and ‘Where?'” the Grammy-winning country singer said in the title of the post.
The series of images showed the singer, her sisters Shanna Underwood Means and Stephanie U. Shelton and their mother being photographed at artist Darek Riley’s tattoo parlor.
The Little Toy Guns singer said she was surprised by the events.

“I never thought Mama Carole would get inked one day!” she said, adding the caption #WhatHappensInVegas.
Carole was wearing a patriotic ensemble of a red shirt with white stripes and white stars on a blue background, paired with blue jeans and black sneakers when she got inked.
The “Before He Cheats” singer thanked Riley “for being so nice to the Underwood girls” to wrap up the post.
Riley said on his Instagram, “Experiences like this make Las Vegas one of the coolest places to live!”
The tattoo artist added, ‘A big thank you to the Underwood girls who stopped by and spent the afternoon at my studio.’ I’m so grateful.’
The mother and her three daughters all got matching heart design tattoos.
Carries was inked on the top of her foot, while Carole, Shanna, and Stephanie were all inked on their wrists.
Carrie recently completed a leg of her residency at Resorts World Las Vegas, Reflection, as she looks set to resume this fall.
