The arrested person is Gor H., who lives with his sister in Berlin. According to Bild TV, the man has a criminal record for property crime and the car in question belongs to his sister.

The vehicle ended its insane frenzy by colliding in front of a department store on Rankestrasse in the Charlottenburg district. The incident happened not far from Breitscheidplatz, the square where a truck driven by an Islamist extremist mowed down a Christmas market in 2016, killing 13 people.

The Renault driver tried to flee

– Gor H. tried to escape but was stopped and handed over to the police. Police officers confirmed that the driver of the car was arrested.
