Famous Ivorian reggae man Alpha Blondy has just indicated the West is behind the coup that overthrew Alpha Condé on September 5, 2021 in Guinea.
The artist makes a disturbing connection between certain anti-Western positions of the former Guinean leader, considered “radical”, and his brutal overthrow. Invited to Tv5, Seydou Koné used his name in civil status to denounce the West, which he believes continues to keep Africa in a state of slavery.
For him, “Africa’s poverty saves the West”. Alpha Blondy, 69, who is releasing a new album ‘Eternity’, points out that every African leader or leader who has dared to say ‘no’ to the west has been shot dead. He cites several examples including Thomas Sankara, Patrick Lumumba… Alpha Condé.
“We convinced the Negro that he is nothing. We built it so black people wouldn’t like their persona. That’s why there are all these stupid wars. Any African leader who dared to draw attention to this slavery was gunned down in cold blood. I explain: Thomas Sankara, Patrick Lumumba, Juvenus Olimpio, Modibo Keita and so on.
Just recently when Mr. Alpha Condé dared to say we must cut the umbilical cord between us and the mother colony, coincidentally there was a coup in Guinea. At some point it has to stop, Africa is in slavery. It’s not the past. It’s still relevant today. Africans are still slaves. The blacks are in slavery. It has to stop,” he pounded.
