This Wednesday (28) the American singer Cat Janice died at the age of 31. The artist had terminal sarcoma, a rare type of cancer. She rose to prominence after her original song “Dance You Outta My Head” went viral on TikTok. With the release of the title, Cat wanted to raise money for the future of her sevenyearold son Loren.
The news was announced through a post by the singer's brother on Instagram. “This morning, in her childhood home and surrounded by her loving family, Catherine peacefully entered the light and love of her heavenly Creator,” the text began. “We are forever grateful for the outpouring of love that Catherine and our family have received over the past few months,” he continued.
“Cat has seen her music achieve things she never expected and she rests in the knowledge that she will continue to support her son with her song. Without all of you, this would not have been possible,” it concludes. Cat has been receiving a ton of support from her followers lately. The music video reached over 51 million views and the track even reached the Billboard Top 50.
diagnosis
In 2022, Cat was diagnosed with the rare cancer. However, in January this year, she shared on social media that the sarcoma had worsened. “I got the message [dura] that cancer won. I struggled a lot, but sarcomas are very difficult,” she said. “Thank you for loving me. “Thank you for loving me. I'm praying for a miracle to help me get through this, but I think I'm called home,” she added.

The punch
Cat Janice moved her followers with the release of “Dance You Outta My Head.” The singer transferred the copyright of the track to her son with the aim of securing an income for the child in the future. In the released video, Cat lies in a hospital bed and reveals that she has found out that “the cancer has won.”
In the caption, she asked her followers to share her music. “My final joy would be if you save and stream my song 'Dance You Outta My Head,' because all the profits go directly to my 7yearold son, who I leave behind,” the singer said.
She continued: “Please share this, I have to hand it to him. If there's one thing you need to know, it's that the only opinion about you is your opinion. Love yourself and be kind to others. I hope I can get through this, but if not, I wish everyone a good night.” Check out the release:
@cat.janice Thank you for loving me. I pray for a miracle to help me do this, but I believe I am called “home.” My final joy would be if you would presave and stream my song “Dance You Outta My Head” to my bio because all proceeds will go directly to my 7 year old son who I leave behind. Please kindly share this, I have to leave it to him. If there's anything you need to know, it's that the only opinion you have about yourself is your opinion. Love yourself and be gentle with others. I hope I get through this, but if not, I wish everyone a good night. #Cancer #Songwriter ♬ Dance You Outta My Head Cat Janice
