The company invites you to learn more about the CBP One application, available for download and aimed at eliminating smugglers, reducing exploitation of migrants and improving security when entering the United States.
The tool allows non-citizens to make appointments up to 21 days in advance, using exclusive lanes and streamlining the process at ports of entry.
CBP emphasizes that the number of non-citizens that can be processed through the application will vary depending on each port's resources and infrastructure.
Additionally, it clarifies that the application does not determine asylum applications, but rather that those subject to expedited removal proceedings have the opportunity to seek assistance, including asylum applications, before an immigration judge.
The CBP One app also provides important information about the processing process at ports of entry and provides answers to frequently asked questions, such as the ability to apply for an Authorization to Work Document (EAD) after receiving a notification.
CBP ONE updates
In a continued effort to improve the application, CBP One has implemented recent updates including simplifying the photo taking and scheduling process and removing the required vulnerability in preparation for the end of Title 42 effective December 29th. April 2023.
Additionally, starting May 10, 2023, there will be more time available to complete the appointment request process.
CBP also reports that the appointment process is conducted in a fair and transparent manner and is continually monitored to prevent fraudulent activity.
Effective August 9, 2023, CBP has extended the scheduling period from 14 to 21 days to allow noncitizens more time to prepare and organize their travel to their desired port of entry.
With the CBP One application, CBP aims to strengthen security, eliminate reliance on smugglers, and provide a more efficient and fair process for those seeking to enter the United States legally and safely.
