Celebrities May Change Their Minds About Johnny Depp Vs. Amber Heard Case In Light Of New Evidence

After the verdict was read in Johnny Depp-Amber Heard’s defamation trial, we discussed why the outcome was no win for anyone. The complicated case, riddled with alleged domestic violence, addiction and mental health issues, grew into a fierce anti-Amber Heard campaign on social media, and many celebrities appeared to be cheering Depp’s victory when the verdict was announced. Now that 6,000 pages of court documents have revealed new details about the inner workings of the former couple’s marriage, there are some prominent Depp supporters who may change their minds.

The legal documents, obtained by attorney Andrea Burkhart, show texts between the actor and “Pirates of the Caribbean” singer Marilyn Manson expressing sympathy for one another over their similar domestic violence allegations. There are also records of Depp’s legal team trying to establish Heard’s past as an “exotic dancer” (which wasn’t her career path during courtship or marriage). The revelations shed new light on the case and don’t make Depp look like the hero some of his fans are heralding him as – and that could be why certain stars have tried to quietly quit #TeamDepp.

A supporter of Heard noted that a slew of celebrities had suddenly disappeared from Depp’s Instagram victory post. “Celebs are unliking Johnny Depp’s celebratory Instagram post lmao,” they said wrote on twitter. “For anyone wondering who didn’t like the post people have noticed so far: Elle Fanning, Bella Hadid, Orlando Bloom, Robert Downey Jr (shocking), NikkieTutorials, Zoey Deutch, Sophie Turner, Joey King. They also called out in the thread who was in Heard’s corner the entire time, including Sarah Paulson, Amanda Seyfried and John Legend.

As more evidence comes to light, it will show how difficult the case has been – and will move forward as both sides have appealed. The Heard and Depp fanbases are unlikely to change their minds, but it looks like the new revelations have had some Hollywood celebs quietly withdrawing their support from his corner.
