Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi and Juan Pablo Montoya, who have careers in both F1 and the IndyCar Series, have been named ambassadors for this first edition of the Miami GP.

Other ex-F1 drivers are also in attendance, most of whom act as Grand Prix analysts. This is especially true for Jacques Villeneuve, David Coulthard, Mika Hakkinen and Jenson Button.

By the way, Villeneuve is accompanied to Miami by his wife Giulia Marra and the youngest of the family named Gilles.

We also saw 2008 World runner-up Felipe Massa and Jackie Stewart who, following the death of Brit Tony Brooks earlier this week, is now the oldest of the winning drivers at 82 years, 10 months and 26 days in F1 ahead of Andretti (82 years, two months and nine days).

Other stars expected

The IndyCar Series is also well represented by Helio Castroneves drivers Romain Grosjean and Simon Pagenaud.

We also chatted to Jean Alesi, whose only F1 win came in Montreal in 1995, and Guy Laliberté, one of the co-founders of Cirque du Soleil and F1 enthusiast.

Her two sons Giuliano for the first and Kami for the second drove kart and Formula 4 races together.

In addition, more stars are expected today and invited to the parade on the starting grid, about 30 minutes before the red lights go out.

Below that we announce the presence of sisters Serena and Venus Williams (tennis), LeBron James and Michael Jordan (basketball), Tom Brady and Dan Marino (soccer) and soccer legend David Beckham.
