Mercedes-Benz is one of the first automotive companies in the world to feature immersive Dolby Atmos surround sound technology
Dolby Atmos is an immersive surround sound technology that you really only find in the theater or in some expensive consumer speakers, soundbars and headphones. Unlike your typical left and right audio experience, Dolby Almost brings you sounds from every direction imaginable, and that immersive audio experience comes to the Mercedes-Benz Maybach. Check out our experience with Dolby Atmos at CES 2023 in the video above.
Dolby Atmos is currently only available in a few select luxury vehicles.
The color-changing concept car from BMW
BMW introduced the i Vision Dee, a futuristic mid-size electric sedan with digital assistant, color-changing technology and augmented reality windshield. The car’s exterior features 240 e-ink segments that can be individually controlled; You can opt for a solid color if you prefer, but each individual panel can be customized so you can go wild with patchwork designs. But the most exciting new feature is certainly the fully digital mixed reality windshield. You can decide how much “digital content” you see in front of you while driving, such as driving information, communication, AR projections and virtual worlds.
Turn the Mixed Reality Slider to maximum and the windshield will be filled with information or even fully virtual worlds.

Amazon Ring now wants to live in your car
Amazon’s Ring makes security cameras for your home and business to provide security and allow you to keep tabs on package deliveries and other activities, and now it wants to do the same for your car. The Ring Car Cam is a dashboard-mounted, double-sided camera that can record both inside and outside your car while you’re driving or parked. While the camera stores footage locally, if you park nearby it can connect to your Wi-Fi network to upload footage. You can also get LTE support to stay connected, so you can view a live feed in case someone else has your car. You need to pay for a Ring Protect Go subscription for that. You can pre-order the Ring Car Cam now for $200, or wait to buy it when it releases in February for $250.
Thanks to the camera’s built-in speaker and microphone, you can talk to anyone in the car remotely.

An electric pickup that follows you?
Ram introduced the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV, its first all-electric pickup truck, at CES 2023. The electric truck features rear-swinging suicide doors, three rows of seats, an AR display, a personal AI assistant, and “themes” for the car’s interior. For example, you can turn on Party Mode or Relax Mode—each changing seating positions and orientation, lighting, sound system, and even the opacity of the skylight. But the most interesting thing about the electric truck is certainly its “shadow mode” feature, which allows the truck to follow the driver like a dog when he’s on foot.
Arriving in 2024.

Oh yes, a four-seat flying car was announced
Flying cars aren’t quite off the ground yet, but we seem to be one step closer. The US company Aska announced what may be the world’s first four-seat flying car at CES this year. The Aska A5 is an electric vehicle the size of a small SUV that can travel on a single charge on the road and up to 400km in the air. It also comes with a small petrol engine that can give you an extra 50 miles. And you can expect it to hit the streets (and skies) pretty soon. According to CEO Guy Kaplinsky, the Federal Aviation Administration could approve the A5 this month, and the company plans to launch a ride-sharing service using a fleet of its flying vehicles in 2026. The A5 is priced at $789,000. You can make a $5,000 deposit now to get on the pre-order list.
Why fight traffic on the road when you can just fly over it?
