Equipped with a thermometer, a digital stethoscope, an electrocardiogram and an oximeter, this device is sold for 249.95 euros.
After connected watches or scales, Withings is presenting a brand new product at the high-tech event CES 2024, which has just opened. It's called BeamO and is pitched as “the revolution in home health checks.” Smaller than a smartphone, this device is a 4-in-1 device equipped with a non-contact thermometer, digital stethoscope, electrocardiogram and oximeter.
With this device you can measure your body temperature, listen to your heart and lungs, but also detect possible heart abnormalities and measure the oxygen saturation level in the blood. “BeamO can also help doctors investigate diseases such as asthma,” Withings assures on its website. If the device can alert the user if the heart rate is too low or too high, the French company states that “heart sounds and breathing sounds must be interpreted by a doctor.”
A complete assessment for the family
By providing a comprehensive health report, BeamO also allows users to share their results with their doctor. Withings wants to enter “the new era of remote monitoring”, namely “augmented teleconsultation”.
Users can use this device to take important measurements for themselves and their family. Withings also claims that it can be used by 8 people in the same household. With a battery life of 8 months, it charges via a USB-C cable provided by the company.
BeamO is currently not available for sale. Hoping to bring it to market next summer, the company is waiting for CE marking, mandatory for medical devices in Europe, and approval from the Food and Drug Administration, the American health regulator. She plans to market it for 249.95 euros.
