Cesar Filho confirms return to SBT after nine years as head of SBT Brasil TV

SBT confirmed this Tuesday morning (2) the return of Cesar Filho. Almost ten years after he terminated his contract with the broadcaster Silvio Santos and switched to Record, the journalist returns to the presenter SBT Brasil. The aim is to strengthen primetime programming.

In a statement sent to the press, Cesar Filho said he was excited about the opportunity and returning to the channel where he spent most of his career. “I have an alliance of gratitude with Silvio Santos and the SBT family. “That was the decisive factor for my return,” reported the moderator.

In a live broadcast with journalist Ricardo Feltrin on December 24th, the communicator had made his departure from Record official, but had not yet made it clear whether he would actually return to SBT.

“Here’s the thing. I received two invitations from open television and one from closed television. We agreed on this, Luma, Luigi [seus filhos]Elaine [Mickely, sua mulher] and I that we will only start discussing this from the 26th. We will wait until Christmas is over and from then on we will start worrying about this future,” he said at the time.

In addition to becoming an anchor for SBT Brasil, Cesar Filho will also focus on programs on digital platforms in 2024. “Not many people know, but I started my career as a sports reporter and then received several invitations to pursue other things, to do less sports. I planned to do something in sports again one day,” he reported, revealing that it was one of his reasons. It is called Show de Bola and has already recorded 14 editions.

At the same time, he will create content for Boa Noite, Brazil, which is an interview program with great personalities; for Fora do Ar, with the proposal to be a lighter attraction with behindthescenes pictures; and the Personal Archive, which tells his story on Brazilian television.

However, the moderator did not provide any information about the platform the content will be intended for. “Today we have these digital platforms, and there are many of them, not only YouTube, but also Amazon, Google, Spotify…,” he announced. “The only reason I haven’t launched it yet in 2023 is because I’m finalizing a really big partnership with a sponsor.”
