CF Montreal’s Kei Kamara saga came to an end on Friday with the veteran striker being traded to the Chicago Fire.

In return, the metropolitan Québec club received an overall award of $250,000, according to MLSsoccer.com journalist Tom Bogert.
Rumors of departure peaked this morning after the Sierra Leone native missed training. His teammates prepared for their first game of the season against Inter Miami CF on Saturday night.
Unsatisfied with his contract, Kamara asked for a swap in January. He wanted to return to the United States or agree to a long-term contract with the Montreal club, which was turned down.
The 38-year-old is the third-leading goalscorer in Major League Soccer (MLS) history with 139 goals. In Chicago he will wear the colors of a 10th different formation of the Garber Circuit. He also impressed in his only season in Quebec, scoring nine goals in 32 regular-season games.
