CF Montreal remain goalless and winless

The Hernan Losada era begins very badly. CF Montreal suffered their third shutout of the season on Saturday, losing the flag 2-0 to Nashville SC.

The Impact previously lost 2-0 and 1-0 to Inter Miami and Austin FC respectively.

In the duel of the day, the Tennessee club opened the scoring in the 37th minute. Garber Tour 2022 MVP Hany Mukhtar masterfully led a counterattack. He nearly crossed half the field before handing the ball off to former Toronto FC Jacob Shaffelburg, who demanded nothing more to score his second goal of the season.

Nashville SC had a great chance to add more in the second half when forward Teal Bunbury appeared alone in front of Jonathan Sirois’ goal. However, his shot bounced off the post.

The hosts finally drove the second and final nail into Montreal’s coffin in the 89th minute. Veteran defender Taylor Washington scored for the first time in his Major League Soccer (MLS) career with a spectacular volley inside the box.

Sirois is still looking for a first win in MLS. Remember he replaces James Pantemis who picked up an injury in the first game of the season.

The Quebec goalkeeper stopped two shots in the loss. He couldn’t really do more: his teammates didn’t frame any shots.

Also, Quebec’s Zachary Brault-Guillard made his 100th appearance in all competitions after beating CF Montreal.

The Bleu-Blanc-Noir make their home debut against the Philadelphia Union next Saturday.
