Forwards Rafaël Harvey-Pinard, Alex Newhook, Jesse Ylönen, Lucas Condotta and Mitchell Stephens and defenseman Nicolas Beaudin received a qualifying offer from the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.
Harvey-Pinard made his mark on the Habs with big offensive pursuits last season. The 24-year-old forward has 20 points in 34 games and hit the net 14 times.

Newhook was acquired by the Habs from the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday. In return, Montreal relinquished first- and second-round picks from the last draft and defenseman Gianni Fairbrother.
In 82 games during the 2022–23 season, Newhook had 14 goals and 16 assists.
Ylönen shuttled between the American League and the National Hockey League (NHL) last season. He amassed 16 points, including six goals in 37 games for the big club. The Finn recorded 32 points, 11 goals and 21 assists in 39 games for the Rocket.
For their part, Condotta and Beaudin mostly wore school club uniforms.
Gurianov free as the air
On the other hand, the Habs haven’t made any qualifying offers to forwards Denis Gurianov and Joël Teasdale.
The two men will therefore become full free agents on Saturday and are free to agree on their team of choice.
In theory, CH could still sign them.
The Canadiens would have had to make Gurianov a qualifying offer of $2.9 million to retain his limited free agent status. The Montreal-based team made their acquisition on February 26, just before the close of trading, in exchange for striker Evgenii Dadonov.
In 23 games in Montreal, the Russian forward has scored five goals and contributed three assists. The Stars’ former first-round pick of 2015 scored a career-high 20 goals in the 2019/20 season.
Teasdale joined CH as a free agent in 2018 at the end of his junior internship. He has played in just two games in his career in the blue, white and red jersey, amassing just one assist.
