The rookie wore a check jersey for the occasion. Guhle is struggling with a lower body injury, possibly a sprained left knee, and has not played since December 29. That day, a fall with Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov earned him an initially estimated eight-week duration.
The 21-year-old has recorded two goals and 12 assists for 14 points in 36 games this season while boasting a -14 difference.
Also absent were Chris Wideman and Kirby Dach, as well as Sean Monahan. The latter is trying to recover from a foot injury but his fitness is declining.
The Habs will visit the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday and try to stem a two-game losing streak.
