CH: Recruiters love Jacob Fowler

The Montreal Canadiens’ selection of goaltender Jacob Fowler during the last draft provided a spark within the recruiting group.

In a pre-draft meeting, Canadian management made its list and polled two goaltenders.

Although the name of the second Cerberus is never mentioned in the video, Ryan was convinced that Fowler had the upper hand over the latter.

“Fowler rises to the challenge every time and wins!” Ryan said of Youngstown’s goalie in the USHL.

Although Riendeau understood Fowler’s current successes, he wondered what potential Fowler would have in a few years “against players 24 and 25 years old.”

“Fowler has already mastered the position. The others don’t. They have the tools, but in their minds they haven’t figured out how to win games yet! Fowler knows how to do it, he’s been doing it since he was 10,” Ryan added.

“We are all working for the same goal, which is to win the Stanley Cup. Fowler was never anything other than the best goalie. Look at his stats. “He has never had anything other than the best efficiency rate in any of the leagues he has played in,” the director of player evaluation continued.

Montreal ultimately chose Fowler in the 3rd round, ranked 69th overall. The goalkeeper will play for Boston College this season.
