CH: the expected lineup for the first game

The Montreal Canadiens are making their final preparations for the new season, which they will begin this Wednesday against the Maple Leafs in Toronto.

After several attempts, the puzzle put together by Martin St-Louis takes its final shape.

This is what the CH lineup for the opening game should look like if we rely on the composition of the trios and duos at training on Monday:

Attacker:

  • Caufield-Suzuki-Anderson
  • Newhook – Roof – Slafkovsky
  • Pearson-Monahan-Gallagher
  • Harvey-Pinard – Evans – Ylönen
  • Pezzetta

Defender:

  • Matheson-Savard
  • Guhle-Kovacevic
  • Xhekaj-Harris
  • Barron

Guardian:

  • Allen
  • Montembeault
  • Primeau

Therefore, Josh Anderson should have the privilege of playing alongside Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki in the first trio. Michael Pezzetta is the additional striker. On the blue line, Justin Barron is the seventh defenseman.

Earlier today, defenseman Mattias Norlinder and forward Emil Heineman became the last two players to be excluded from training camp.

Since they do not have to clear waivers, they will report directly to the Laval Rocket in the American League.
