The past few days have been troubled for voice actor Guilherme Briggs, who has suffered an avalanche of negative comments and even death threats for “changing” a line in the anime Chainsaw Man dub from an unofficial Brazilian translation. Many fans supported the voice actor and condemned the senseless attacks from the angry fanbase, but Crunchyroll, the anime’s official distributor, declined to comment.
Finally, this Saturday afternoon (14), the company released a statement on its social networks saying that there is no place in the anime community for this type of aggressive attitude and that it supports the voice actor Guilherme Brigss. You can read the statement in full below:
“Cyberbullying has no place in the anime community. Crunchyroll fully endorses voice actor Guilherme Briggs and condemns the attacks directed against him and his fantastic voice work with the Som de Vera Cruz studio team.
We would like to thank the fans who have expressed their support for Briggs and the voiceover team for their work and professionalism. It is your work that makes the industry and community strong today.
Crunchyroll will always be with you.”

“To ensure the safety of the cast and crew affected by the current situation, we will be rescheduling our original TikTok livestream of Chainsaw Man, which was originally scheduled for next Tuesday. Thank you for your understanding!”
