Brazilian voice actor Guilherme Briggs announced this Friday (13) that he is leaving the production of Chainsaw Man after suffering attacks and even death threats from fans.
“I will ask to leave the dubbing of this anime. I don’t want to be in it anymore. It’s over for me,” he said on his Twitter. Shortly before, the voice actor said he was afraid of losing his Twitter and Instagram accounts after the various hacking attempts. “I suffer hate attacks, taunts and threats because of Chainsaw Man. I apologize to you for this message, I hope this all goes away,” he wrote.
It all started with the unofficial dubbing of the manga, which became very popular with fans. In the unofficial translation, a scene where the character Demônio do Futuro says “The future is pica” has repercussions.
While the Brazilian version released by Panini translated the scene as “the future is awesome”, the Brazilian dubbing was translated as “The future is show. é pica” retained. Check out the scene in question below:

Brigss voicing the demon received a barrage of criticism. On social media, some fans have spoken out in favor of the pro who has voiced great characters, including Buzz Lightyear.

All in solidarity @GuilhermeBriggs which received terrible attacks because of the toxic anime community. He even gave up the role…I went through that once and I haven’t talked about anime on the channel since. It’s a noisy minority. The good point is that they only exist on the internet.
