The assault charge against Las Vegas Raiders star receiver Davante Adams last October was dropped by a Kansas City court.
In the Raiders’ 30-29 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Monday night’s NFL game, Oct. 10, Adams faced Ryan Zebley, a freelance photographer working for ESPN.
A Kansas City court spokesman told the Kansas City Star on Friday that a prosecutor dismissed the charges on June 5 and the case is now closed.
Zebley reportedly suffered a severe headache and possibly a mild concussion as a result of the incident. He is currently suing Adams in addition to the Raiders and Chiefs.
The star player apologized after the game, saying the shoving was “just a mixture of frustration”. [Zebley] literally running in front of him.
The 30-year-old athlete’s lawyer did not comment on the matter on Friday.
