Everything ready for Rose Ball 2023, superbly organized by Caroline of Monaco, who will bring to life the most prestigious event in Monte Carlo on the evening of March 25th. His children Andrea, Pierre, Charlotte Casiraghi and Alexandra of Hanover will be with her. In fact, there will be all his family except for one person, Charlene of Monaco. Alberto’s wife is an unwanted presence and she herself refrains from attending when she can.
Charlene of Monaco is not welcome at the Rose Ball
Though relations between Charlene of Monaco and Carolina have improved over the past year, the two women never quite hit it off. Carolina finds the behavior and character of Alberto’s wife bizarre and she has always been jealous of her sister-in-law, who has filled the de facto vacant position since the death of her mother Grace Kelly in 1982 “First Lady of the Principality”a role that inevitably went to Charlene in 2011 when she married Alberto.
The handover certainly wasn’t entirely painless: Carolina never wanted to be put aside, and Charlene always thought she was too awkward a character. So that the tension doesn’t skyrocket, Alberto He divided the tasks Institutions between the two women. If he entrusted his wife with the role of President of the Red Cross, putting her in charge of the ball dedicated to the institution, he left the organization of the Red Cross to Carolina rose dance, also because Grace wanted the evening.
The 2023 Rose Ball is Bollywood
So this year it was Carolina’s turn again to prepare the gala event. The Rose Ball takes place Saturday March 25th in the prestigious Salle des Etoiles of Sporting Montecarlo. The chosen topic is bollywood. Last year it was La Dolce Vita. On this occasion, stars of international music are invited to perform.
The Rose Ball was founded by Princess Grace in 1954. Takes place every year in March, except for 2022, which was organized in July after a two-year break due to the pandemic.
Caroline of Monaco, Princess of the Rose Ball
This extraordinary event it brings together the elite and international high society and opens the secular season of the Principality. Since 1964, the evening has raised funds for the Princess Grace Foundation, which aims to help those in need, underprivileged children and to develop humanitarian and philanthropic activities. In addition, the ball is an opportunity to promote contemporary art, ballet and literature.
It is not for nothing that Carolina, who has been involved in the organization of the Rose Ball since 1982, is known in Monte Carlo as the Princess of the Arts of Monaco. Only recently, together with Alberto, she opened a new department of the dance academy dedicated to her mother, which she founded in 1975. Princess Carolina has a great passion for ballet and has studied dance since she was young. She was also a student of the Russian ballerina Marika Besobrasova.
The Ball of the Rose, with all its splendor and prestige, is therefore the empire and expression of Carolina, who therefore does not appreciate the presence of Charlene de Monaco. For her part, Alberto’s wife often left the event, leaving the prince alone, always surrounded by his large family.
