Lady A’s Charles Kelley uploaded a post to thank fans as he takes time out to focus on his sobriety following the cancellation of the band’s tour.
The 40-year-old country singer shared a message on his Instagram account on Friday, writing that he was working on his “journey to sobriety.”
The country music group announced last week that their tour, originally scheduled to begin August 13, will be postponed to next year to allow their bandmate to fully recover.

The star shared a photo of himself posing for a selfie with his wife Cassie and six-year-old son Ward as they relaxed on a beach.
The talented artist also took the time to post a message expressing how grateful and touched he was for his fans’ overwhelming support.
“I want to thank everyone who has shown me so much support and encouragement so far on my journey of sobriety,” he typed.
He added that the fans themselves have already helped him on his way to recovery.
“Your kind words have meant the world to me and have really lifted me up over the past few weeks. I can’t wait to ride with Lady A again next year.”

The star went on to say that he’s more than thrilled to be performing again once he’s fully sober.
“Coming onto that stage and being able to see, hear and feel it all through a clearer lens will be a gift I won’t take for granted.”
He concluded his heartfelt message by writing: “I am grateful that this time I can focus on my family and my health. With love Charles.”

On Lady A’s official Instagram page last week, the group announced the postponement of their tour.
Charles, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood were originally scheduled to kick off their Request Line Tour on August 13-14 at the Ryman Auditorium in their hometown of Nashville.
“We have decided to postpone our Request Line Tour to next year,” the announcement began.
“We’re a band, but more importantly… we’re a family. We are proud to say that Charles has embarked on a journey to sobriety.’

The statement ended with: “This update is real-time, but in the coming days your point of sale will be in touch with new ticket information. We look forward to making 2023 our best year yet!”
Lady A recently released her latest single titled “Told You I Could Drink” on August 4th. He uploaded a post to Charles’ Instagram page to promote the country group’s latest single.
The star included a caption hinting at his struggle with sobriety. ‘Ironic since I stopped drinking haha.’
