On May 31st, the second edition of the Grande soirée & Major Cause presented by the Autist & Major Foundation to fund the development of day centers for people with autism took place at the St-James Theater in Old Montreal. A number of artists, including the Foundation’s President and Vice-President Sophie Prégent and Charles Lafortune, attended this event, which raised $325,000.

Charles Lafortune was very satisfied with the result of this second evening in favor of the foundation.
“It’s a crazy dream come true and I’m so happy to be able to make a difference,” said the man, who was proud to announce that his son Mathis would be attending his graduation ceremony at the end of June. “He’ll have his toga and mortarboard, and I’m touched to see he’s there. It is reassuring that the Giant Steps School will open a department for adults with autism. We are therefore very pleased that our son and several other people with severe autism can benefit from these resources,” said the father, who will also be taking a romantic vacation with Sophie.

“Mathis will take a week off and Sophie and I will go to Italy. It will be the first time we leave without him in 21 years and I hope I don’t get to think too much about it. »
