Charlotte Sena was found alive while riding her bike in a park in upstate New York two days after the nine-year-old disappeared – and a suspect is currently in custody.

Multiple law enforcement sources say the arrested suspect has a criminal record for sexual abuse — and that he allegedly left a note at Sena’s parents’ home.

According to the Times Union, the investigation is focused on the belief that Charlotte was pulled into a vehicle or into the woods against her will.

New York State Police previously believed Charlotte was abducted from Moreau Lake State Park. She was last seen Saturday evening wearing a tie-dye Pokémon shirt, dark blue pants, black crocodiles and a gray bicycle helmet.

Shortly after 7 p.m., police said: “Charlotte was found safe and in good health.”

Charlotte Sena was last seen cycling around Loop A in Moreau Lake State Park in upstate New York near Saratoga Springs. At 6:15 p.m. she rode her bike alone and was never seen again. The police couldn’t find her anywhere in the park and therefore assume she was kidnapped

It is unclear what involvement the detained suspect had in her disappearance.

Police searched a home in Milton, New York, on Monday evening, shortly before police announced the arrest.

This property is 13 miles south of Charlotte Sena’s family home.

The multi-agency search, which spanned 46 miles and involved 400 search personnel and dozens of federal, state and local agencies on site, ended today.

Charlotte was traveling alone on Loop A of Moreau Lake State Park in New York, near Saratoga Springs, when she disappeared at 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

She had been playing with friends all day, but decided to ride her bike alone one last time before the sun went down.

It should have only taken a few minutes to complete the small loop. At 6:30 p.m., her parents discovered that she had not returned and became worried. At 6:47 p.m., they found Charlotte’s bike on the loop and called 911.

A frantic search was launched for the child, for whom an Amber Alert was issued on Sunday morning after rangers searched the 6,250-acre park and found no trace of her.

There are 158 campsites in the park. Loop A is located in the southwest corner of the park and is directly adjacent to US Highway 9, which runs from Philadelphia to Canada.

New York Governor Hochul said Monday evening: “We are overjoyed with the news that Charlotte Sena has been found safely this evening after an intensive, day-long search.”

“Our hearts go out to her family as they welcome her home.”

“Thank you to the New York State Police, New York Park Police and everyone who worked so tirelessly to find Charlotte.”

“Thanks to their efforts, Charlotte will be able to return home safely to her family.”
