Currently, the Greens could not support climate extremists to the extent they wanted. They were “caught in a coalition”, MP Jamila Schäfer said in the minutes. Bundestag SPD member Helge Lindh volunteered to support the chaos and wanted to “infiltrate the SPD”.
Die Welt reports a total of 22 meetings with politicians from the SPD, Greens, FDP and Left. 35 talks were held with mayors, ostensibly to find allies. According to a December 2022 filing, Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) expressed understanding for the concerns of climate extremists. According to Herrmann, climate protection is not progressing fast enough.

Journalist Tilo Jung (“Young and naive”) was even actively involved in the group. He is credited with the slogans “Your growth is killing us” and “End the terror of growth”. At the Portal news agency there is also a contact person “who loves us”.
The group apparently finds itself emboldened by the police through their action. There are “many positive contacts” in the police force. Eight police officers joined the climate extremists.
