Earlier this week, TMZ ran a story featuring video footage from FOX 8 in Cleveland that included excerpts of two statements made by Deshaun Watson in multiple civil lawsuits filed against him alleging sexual assault and improper conduct by more than 20 women, including Brown’s new quarterback, that is one of the things you should see for yourself.
Ohio folks have a lot of questions when it comes to Watson, since the Browns traded their first-round picks in 2022, 2023 and 2024, plus two others, to Houston for him. They also signed Watson to a five-year, $230 million guaranteed contract, the largest guaranteed contract in league history. The Browns did all of this after allegedly conducting “extensive investigations” into his situation, which includes the 22 civil cases against him that are still pending. Or have you? A back and forth between ESPN’s Jake Trotter and Browns GM Andrew Berry makes you think differently.
In the deposition video, Watson was asked if he found any of the masseurs attractive.
“That wasn’t my intention, sir. I can not answer that. I have a girlfriend. So that was not my intention.”
I think relationships are blind.
Then came a question as to why he drove about 30 minutes out of town to get a massage at a woman’s mother’s house, where he brought his own towel. He was also asked if he knew if the masseuse was licensed, educated or trained.
“I’m not sure, sir,” he answered all three questions.
It seems like anyone can put Watson down. Certifications are not required.
The man who asked the questions in the video then said: “Pretty risky going somewhere you’ve never been to have someone you don’t really know. Didn’t know about her skill, give you a massage.”
And finally, the question arose as to why Watson had posted something on Instagram suggesting he was in New York City when he was actually in Houston for a massage.
“On the advice of my attorney, I am asserting my rights under the Fifth Amendment.”
This is who several teams were in a bidding war over and who the Cleveland Browns gave a historic contract to. This is Roger Goodell’s NFL.
