Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge
Happy birthday to Prince Louis!
Ahead of the young king’s fourth birthday tomorrow, Kensington Palace released four new portraits of Louis photographed by Mother Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. In the photos, the youngest of the Cambridge children wears a collared shirt under a gray jumper – a look reminiscent of father Prince William’s style – and teal shorts while playing on the beach.
Long known for her love of photography, Duchess Kate has previously snapped intimate photos of her children, offering a glimpse into royal life. She also did the official birthday portraits for Prince George’s eighth birthday last year.
Louis was last seen on the Cambridges’ 2021 holiday card, where he posed alongside big brother George and six-year-old sister Princess Charlotte, as well as William and Kate. The family, dressed in various shades of moss green and blue, smile together while seated outdoors against a rocky backdrop. The photo was taken during a family trip to Jordan earlier this year.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cambridge children have had minimal public presence, although George and Charlotte did accompany their parents to Prince Philip’s memorial service in March and to this past Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel. Duchess Kate previously spoke about Louis adjusting to the ‘new normal’ in an interview with BBC Breakfast, saying: ‘Louis doesn’t understand social distancing.
Swipe forward to see all four of Prince Louis’ birthday portraits.
