If you report the death too late, there may be problems with paying the insurance premium. As a rule, the insurance company will initially receive a telephone message.
The documents that must be presented to prove the accident must be copied and sent to the company by registered letter.
Hire a funeral director
If the deceased did not conclude a pension contract with a specific funeral home, they can freely choose a funeral home.
You discuss with the funeral director what tasks the funeral home should take on. The heirs pay the funeral costs. It makes sense to get at least a comparative offer before ordering. These decisions are easier if the deceased has already spoken to their family during their lifetime about how they would like the funeral to be held.
Check whether the deceased expressed a wish regarding their burial and determine the type of burial
- Burial in the ground
- Cremation
- Tree burial
- Natural burial
Check with the funeral director

- Would you like a funeral notice?
- publish?
- Want to send parts?
- Would you like to print memorial photos?
- Would you like to put something in the coffin?
- Do you want floral decorations?
- What music should be played?
- Live or from a system?
- Songs at the beginning and end of the funeral
- Would you like to organize a funeral/memorial party?
