Chelsea
- Rúben Amorim, Oliver Glasner and Luis Enrique are also on the list
- Co-owners don’t want to make a hasty decision on the next manager
Chelsea are keen to interview Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino, Rúben Amorim, Oliver Glasner and Luis Enrique as part of their search for a manager but are willing to wait until the summer before appointing a full-time replacement for Graham Potter.
The club, which installed the inexperienced Bruno Saltor as interim head coach following Potter’s abrupt sacking on Sunday, do not want to make a hasty decision. There were indications that Bruno, who has no managerial experience, could remain in charge for the remainder of the season.

This is intended to take a different approach than the shock decision to dismiss Thomas Tuchel in September. Potter was quickly lured away from Brighton, but a quick date is not expected this time.
Bruno works from game to game but could lead the side into the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals against Real Madrid next week.
Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali want the search to be as comprehensive as possible. Responsibility has been given to sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, who will judge a number of candidates. Nagelsmann is the early favorite but the former Bayern Munich manager is not certain of getting the job.

The feeling is that Chelsea reacted too quickly when they appointed Potter, who turned out to be an inappropriate choice. Boehly and Eghbali spearheaded this process with their sporting structure yet to take shape and Pochettino was the only other candidate to be interviewed. Further due diligence is being carried out.
Nagelsmann evidently argues that the German worked alongside Stewart and Chelsea technical director Christopher Vivell at RB Leipzig. But Nagelsmann, who was replaced by Tuchel at Bayern last week, has indicated he wants to wait until the end of the season before taking his next job. Chelsea, who host Liverpool on Tuesday night, would also have to negotiate with Bayern to take the 35-year-old off garden leave.

Chelsea are 11th in the Premier League despite spending nearly £600million since last summer and are keen to speak again with Pochettino, who has been out of work since leaving Paris Saint-Germain. It is understood the post would appeal to Luis Enrique, who lost his job in Spain following the World Cup.
Chelsea are also watching Amorim, who has emerged as one of the brightest young managers in Europe. The 38-year-old won the Portuguese title with Sporting Lisbon in 2021 and guided them to the Europa League quarter-finals that season.

There is also respect for Glasner’s performance at Eintracht Frankfurt. The Austrian won the Europa League last season. Frankfurt, who were knocked out of the Champions League by Napoli last month, are sixth in the Bundesliga. Another possible contender is Luciano Spalletti, who is on course to win Serie A with Napoli but the Italian is currently considered an outsider.
Chelsea know they can’t afford to wait too long before making an appointment. Real and PSG could look for new managers this summer and Tottenham are looking for a replacement for Antonio Conte. Interested in a Pochettino reunion, Spurs have also targeted Nagelsmann.
