Chelsea Handler took a subtle dig at her ex-boyfriend Jo Koy at the Critics' Choice Awards on Sunday after he received less-than-flattering criticism for his Golden Globes monologue.

“Unfortunately, Martin Scorsese isn't here tonight, but that won't stop me from letting everyone in this room know that I would throw him around like a little Italian meatball,” Handler, 48, joked in her monologue.

“Thanks for laughing about it. My writers wrote it,” she added.

The Post has reached out to representatives for the 52-year-old Koy for comment.

Handler's joke comes a week after Koy bombed his Golden Globes monologue and even slammed the show's writers.

“Some [jokes] I wrote, some other people wrote. Yes, I got the gig 10 days ago! Do you want a perfect monologue? Yo, shut up. “You're kidding me, right?” he said.

“Slow down, I've written some of these and you're the one you're laughing at,” he claimed.

Koy clarified his comments in an interview with the Los Angeles Times on Thursday, admitting that confronting the authors at a time of fear was a “new move.”

Handler's monologue elicited much laughter, while Koy's monologue was met with groans and no emotion from the star-studded audience, particularly the cast and crew of “Barbie.”

“'Oppenheimer' is based on a 721-page Pulitzer Prize-winning book about the Manhattan Project, and 'Barbie' is based on a plastic doll with large breasts,” he said.

Koy also appeared to have upset Taylor Swift when he said: “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? We have less camera footage of Taylor Swift at the Golden Globes.”

The 34-year-old “Karma” singer slowly took a sip of her alcoholic beverage as she stared at the comedian.

For their part, Handler and Koy knew each other for almost 20 years before they started dating in the summer of 2021.

Koy frequently appeared as a guest on Handler's E! on. Late night show “Chelsea Lately,” which ran from 2007 to 2014.

“One day I just looked at him and thought, 'Oh, that's my guy!'” Handler told Jimmy Fallon in October 2021. “So he's like my best buddy, and then I get to, you know, have sex with him too.” … Funny time!”

“I love her, man,” Koy told “Good Morning Washington” around the same time. “There is nothing better than being in love with someone you have been friends with for a long time. She has my back and I have always had her back.”

He added: “It just feels good to finally find love with someone I've loved for a long time.”

But Handler would, unfortunately announced their separation in July 2022, writing in a statement to fans: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce that we have collectively decided that it is best for us to take a break from our relationship now.”

“I know many of you were invested in our love, and I wanted to express to you how much it meant to both of us. How much it still means. And how much I now believe in love for each of us,” she added.

She continued with Koy: “You blew up my creativity, my desire to work hard again, to be on the road again, and you reminded me of who I was and always have been, and my feet have never been so firmly anchored to the ground.” This is not an end, but a new beginning. It's a comfort to know that I'm still in love and love this man like the sun loves the moon and the moon loves the sun.”

In August, Koy told “Entertainment Tonight” that the two were “good friends and always will be,” but on Brooke Shields' “Now What?” podcast in December, Handler revealed that they hadn't spoken in a while had.

“There needs to be some accountability … from him for what happened because it was just ridiculous and I don't think we can have a friendship until there is some accountability and responsibility is taken,” she said.

“We had a really great friendship, and I would love to have it again, but without a few steps in the right direction, I can't imagine that happening,” Handler admitted.

In July 2023, Koy gave Page Six an update on where the couple stood a year after their split.

“She’s a beautiful person and we’re still friends,” he said. “It was a wonderful time and she is doing beautiful things right now. She’s crushing it right now, so I have nothing but the utmost love for her.”
