Cher is currently celebrating the release of her first Christmas album, but has just reached another milestone that she’s far less willing to discuss.
The 77-year-old pop icon appeared on the Tuesday, Nov. 28, episode of the Today show to chat about her new holiday LP, which dropped last month. October also marked the 25th anniversary of her song “Believe,” the best-selling single of all time by a female solo artist.
“How amazing is it that ‘Believe’ is 25 years old?” Anchor Today Harry Smith Cher asked. However, the Oscar winner wasn’t thrilled when he was reminded of the single’s age.
“That’s not so great, okay?” she joked. “It makes me incredibly angry. You can’t let that out! It’s just like, ‘What is this?'”

Cher recently announced that she was working on a memoir documenting her decades-long career, but her first attempt didn’t go so well. “I just totally freaked out,” she explained during a Thursday, November 23, appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I didn’t put some things that needed to be in there. And they’re not comfortable, but they have to be in, so I have to go back and man up.”
Cher discussed the memoir again on the Today show, noting that its longevity made the writing process “very difficult.”
