On Monday, the legendary Cher tweeted a tribute to her “Moonstruck” director Norman Jewison after he passed away at his home in Los Angeles last Saturday at the age of 97.
“Farewell, sweet prince,” the 77-year-old pop diva, who has 11.9 million social media followers, continued X.

Jewison considered “Moonstruck” his favorite film he had ever made, and it wowed critics and audiences alike, grossing $122.1 million at the worldwide box office from a modest $15 million budget.
Cher – who is just one Tony away from EGOT status – won the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her thrilling performance as the no-nonsense Italian-American widow.
The Alt-Belter's mother, Olympia Dukakis, won the Oscar for best supporting actress, while John Patrick Shanley won the Oscar for best original screenplay for “Moonstruck.”
