On Monday, the legendary Cher tweeted a tribute to her “Moonstruck” director Norman Jewison after he passed away at his home in Los Angeles last Saturday at the age of 97.

“Farewell, sweet prince,” the 77-year-old pop diva, who has 11.9 million social media followers, continued X.

'Thanks to [you] for one of the greatest, happiest and most fun experiences of my life. Without [you], I wouldn't have my beautiful golden man. Norman [you] made “Moonstruck” a great film. [People]Script, actors etc. needed [you] Darling. “Norman Jewison lives on through his work.”

Jewison considered “Moonstruck” his favorite film he had ever made, and it wowed critics and audiences alike, grossing $122.1 million at the worldwide box office from a modest $15 million budget.

Cher – who is just one Tony away from EGOT status – won the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her thrilling performance as the no-nonsense Italian-American widow.
