There’s mud in her eyes.
Five gay bars in Chicago are boycotting Anheuser-Busch for distancing herself from transgender social media star Dylan Mulvaney after their April 1 collaboration drew the ire of conservatives and called for a boycott of Bud Light.
Sidetrack Bar in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood shared its boycott plan on Instagram, noting that the brewery’s moves “strongly challenge its support of the LGBTQ+ community.”
“For 41 years, Sidetrack has encouraged spirits and beer companies looking to engage the LGBTQ+ customer base to actively support our community,” the bar’s statement said.
“Bud Light’s recent decision to halt Dylan Mulvaney’s campaign to ‘leave’ those who created it, as well as its CEO’s statement, falsely validate the position that it is acceptable to acquiesce to the demands of those who do not support the trans community and want to erase LGBTQ+ visibility,” it said.
The popular TikTok influencer and actress has over 10 million followers.
The bar said its Anheuser-Busch boycott will continue until the brewer “can show clearly that it will not give in to the hate voices that seek to erase the existence of LGBTQ+”.

2Bears Tavern Group, which owns four bars in Chicago, also announced that its operations would no longer offer Anheuser-Busch products due to the brewer’s “anti-transgender actions and statements.”
In its announcement on Instagram, the group drew the testimony of Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth into the controversy.
“The CEO’s statement that he all but wiped out transgender people in favor of anti-trans vitriol was cruel and hurtful. CEO Brendan Whitworth’s apology that Anheuser-Busch “never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people” was tantamount to saying that transgender people’s rights and safety were issues worth discussing.”

Busch retailers across the US are feeling the fallout as many bars in more conservative states are now refusing to stock Bud Light.
The market value of the $132 billion beer company has skyrocketed since the campaign launched on March 1.
Anheuser-Busch’s market value has fallen by $5 billion since the campaign launched in April.
The company previously defended its decision to hire Mulvaney before its CEO relented in front of irate Conservatives and issued a blanket apology, saying, “We’re in the business of bringing people together over a pint.”
It’s unclear if any bars in New York City also decided to boycott Anheuser-Busch, but in 2021 the famous Stonewall Inn dumped Bud Light down the sewer in response to the brand owner’s donation of thousands of dollars to conservative lawmakers who supported anti-transgender legislation. according to Portal.
