Malga Di Paula, widow of Chico Anysio (19312012), defended herself against allegations that she had stolen the comedian’s money. She was in charge of the actor’s inventory and said she developed depression after the loss of her husband a condition aggravated by arguments with her stepchildren. “I didn’t steal a cent,” he defended himself.

The businesswoman gave an interview to Record’s Domingo Espetacular program and spoke in court about the complications surrounding Anysio’s inheritance. Malga was accused by the comedian’s children of failing to manage her husband’s assets properly and allegedly “disappearing” with the money.

“I have been an inventor for many years and have never had the opportunity to speak like I do now. People say I wasn’t efficient, and I agree. “I was always very sick and didn’t have proper legal representation,” he said, referring to the depressive state.

After the fight, the position of inventor of the assets went to Bruno Mazzeo, the actor’s son. The widow is trying to get an apartment in Barra da Tijuca, in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro, and is being investigated by the courts.

Malga explained that if Anysio’s children had suggested a direct conversation, she would have forgone the inventory. Since the investigation began, all interactions have been mediated by attorneys. She challenged her stepchildren to prove that she had stolen money from the actor. “It didn’t have to be traumatic,” he lamented.

“I looked for them because I wanted to talk. But they didn’t want to talk to me because they said the lawyer didn’t want them to talk to me. I talked to them, sat down at a table, offered them a coffee. They were my family, I love them,” he added.

Anysio left several assets in his will, but also accumulated millions of dollars in debts, which are growing daily due to interest. The comedian listed real estate, cars, screenplays and personal files worth more than R$4 million as his inheritance. Income tax and unpaid rent arrears to date total R$2.9 million.

Anysio died in 2012, leaving behind eight children: Lug de Paula, Nizo Neto, Rico Rondelli, Cícero Chaves died in 2021 , Bruno Mazzeo, Rodrigo, Vitória and André Lucas. The comedian married Malga in 2001.

Depressive state

Diagnosed with depression, Malga moved to her hometown of David Canabarro in Rio Grande do Sul. After her recovery, she wanted to return to São Paulo. However, the Covid19 pandemic put a stop to their plans.

In 2021, the businesswoman spent two months in the hospital after contracting the coronavirus. She needed seven lung operations. Malga believes Covid19 has worsened his mental health. In March this year she attempted to commit suicide.

“The person must be in great pain to make this decision. Things happened, a lot of losses. I have this illness, depression, which makes the pain even greater,” he said. Malga was saved by a call from a friend in the middle of the night.
