Chiefs: Travis Kelce could miss the first game

The Kansas City Chiefs may be without tight end Travis Kelce in the first game of their 2023 season on Thursday night.

Head coach Andy Reid made the announcement on Tuesday, stating that his star player suffered a hyperextension in one of his knees during training.

The pilot added that further investigations would be carried out to determine the exact nature and extent of the injury.

The reigning Super Bowl champions begin their title defense with a visit to the Detroit Lions at Arrowhead Stadium. If Kelce cannot play, the Chiefs should turn to veteran Blake Bell.

“One more player will come on the field and we will continue to move forward,” Reid said.

“I don’t know much about it. No matter what it is, it’s one of them [joueurs] The hardest. I can’t wait until he’s back. “We will continue to do what we need to do and the other players in our locker room will be ready to lead,” Bell said.

Kelce is considered the best tight end in the NFL. He also had a fantastic season in 2022. In 17 regular season games, he caught 110 passes for 1,338 yards and 12 touchdowns. The University of Cincinnati product also had 27 balls for 257 yards and four majors in three playoff games.
