A seven-year-old boy was found dead in Perpignan on Thursday and two men from his family were arrested, the public prosecutor’s office said in a press release on Friday.
Two girls, aged two and three, were also hospitalized and bore “traces of multiple trauma,” Perpignan prosecutor Jean-David Cavaillé said.
According to a source familiar with the investigation, the two men in police custody, aged 33 and 28, who had previous convictions, are the father and uncle of the three children.
According to this source, the deceased child was found in the bathtub of an apartment in the poor district of Bas Vernet: the body had several bruises and was partially frozen.
An investigation was initiated into the murder of minors, attempted murder, violence against minors by superiors, kidnapping, concealment of corpses and forgery of documents and use of forgery of documents. She was entrusted to the Perpignan criminal investigation department.
