A 13-year-old boy who jumped into the Little River Canal in northwest Miami-Dade was rescued by a dive team after citizens tried unsuccessfully to save him.
As shown in surveillance video, the boy in question was with a friend behind a home in the 100 block of Northwest 85th Street when he urinated into the building and then ran toward the water.
Then the moment of desperation began because after a few seconds he began to have difficulty staying on the surface while calling for help.
Paul Stoppelwerth, the manager of the aforementioned property, said his roommate offered the boy an oar, but he couldn't grab it and went under in the canal, so he had no choice but to immediately call 911, according to the press. local.

After the emergency call about a possible drowning, a diving team arrived at the scene of the accident around 4:00 p.m.
Rescuers managed to get the young man out of the water and take him to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was treated by on-duty doctors, said Natasha Rogers, the minor's aunt.
The woman also told the media that her nephew had a pulse and had been in the hospital since Tuesday afternoon.
It is worth mentioning that no further details regarding his health have been released so far.
