Two people were arrested after seven students at a Virginia elementary school became ill after eating gummy bears laced with fentanyl.
Clifford Dugan, 50, and Nicole Sanders, 26, face charges of contributing to crime and child abuse after a group of teens needed medical attention Tuesday.

“Upon investigation, it was discovered that the children had eaten the gummy bears. Tests revealed they contained traces of fentanyl,” police said.
One of the seven students brought the bag of candy from home and shared it with his friends at dinner.
They were taken to the hospital. Two of them had to be transported by ambulance, a spokesman for the sheriff's office said.
All adolescents experienced episodes of nausea, vomiting, headaches, and muscle cramps.
The school said the children were released from the hospital late Tuesday evening.
