A three-year-old child entered a baggage conveyor belt at Santiago airport in Chile, putting airport authorities on alert. The boy was safely intercepted.
Many parents’ nightmare when taking a plane. A small child accidentally entered the baggage check-in carousel at Santiago Airport in Chile on November 16 before being tossed around on the conveyor belt until rescued by airport workers.
The video surveillance recording, which was published two days later on the social network X (formerly Twitter), quickly went viral.
In the images, we see the three-year-old boy escaping adult supervision and slipping across the carpet before being swept away by the twists and turns of the airport. Then we see how he follows the baggage cycle.

The alarm was raised quickly and the toddler was safely intercepted and rescued. This incident raises the question of security in such a sensitive location.
In a statement, Santiago Airport said the facilities met standards, but announced that safety measures and protocols had been strengthened to prevent such an accident from happening again.
This is not the first time such a problem has occurred. Similar situations occurred in 2019 at Minneapolis airport in the US with a nine-year-old child and at Atlanta airport with a two-year-old boy.
