As President Gabriel Boric announced, the project promotes and supports growth while maintaining fiscal responsibility – a difficult balance.
Against the backdrop of budget cuts, we will see an expansion of public spending with a focus on education and health, the President said.
Boric acknowledged that the debate on the issue in the National Congress is always complex, but expressed his hope of reaching a consensus.
“It will be a two-month process, but I trust in the seriousness of all the actors involved so that we can move it forward,” he added.
Government spokesperson Camila Vallejo announced that the goal is to continue to strengthen the issues that matter to citizens, such as basic social rights, economic issues and strengthening public security.
At the end of a meeting this morning at the Cerro Castillo Palace in the municipality of Viña del Mar, Socialist Party parliamentarian Daniel Manouchehri said that the project highlights extremely important issues for Chileans such as health, security and decentralization.
The conclave, chaired by the President of the Republic, was attended by ministers, leaders of governing parties, chairmen of benches and members of financial commissions.
