BEIJING, April 14th (RHC) – China’s National Health Commission (CNS) reported a total of 3,020 new positive cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, of which 2,999 were locally transmitted and 26,391 were asymptomatic.
The update’s figures, which correspond to this Wednesday, beat the infection record registered on April 6, when 1,415 cases were registered for a total of 20,000 positives in the Asian country.
Authorities are maintaining the current “zero tolerance” policy towards the pandemic to control the current outbreak, which was triggered after the Ómicrom variant entered the country.
CNS spokesman Mi Feng defended that this strategy is the best to prevent the virus from spreading further.
Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said the day before in the face of criticism from the United States that these “epidemic prevention measures are effective and scientific.”
The CNS also reported that as of April 13, 2022, 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps have reported the use of more than 3,305 million doses of the various coronavirus vaccines designed by became Chinese scientists.
