Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu and Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Nikolai Yevmenov thanked them for expanding their cooperation.
BEIJING, July 3 (Prensa Latina) Chinese and Russian authorities today agreed that it is important for the two countries to develop practical military cooperation and communication in order to promote these ties at higher levels.
Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu told Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Nikolai Yevmenov at a meeting that the two sides should cooperate more closely and coordinate and organize both naval exercises and regular patrols.
He expressed Beijing’s willingness to work with Moscow to implement the consensus reached by the heads of state, expand the scope of cooperation to specific areas, and jointly make positive contributions to maintaining regional and world peace and stability.
For his part, Yevmenov spoke of how important it is for Russia to maintain military cooperation with China in various areas and that pragmatism prevails there.
He also advocated increasing exchanges between the two navies and between the armies in general. (Source:PL)
